Abstract

Abstract

Caisin Brassica rapa is one of the most popular vegetable crops in Indonesia because it has high economic and nutritional value. Public interest in caisin is increasing, so it is produced in vitro. In this study, using Hyponex medium with shallot extract Allium cepa  containing the auxin hormone to stimulate the growth of a plant. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect and effective concentration of caisin B. rapa growth by in vitro administration of shallot extract A. cepa on Hyponex medium. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with a single factor, namely shallot extract A. cepa with five concentrations as treatment, namely 0%, 7%, 14%, 21%, and 28%. The data obtained are in the form of qualitative data and quantitative data. Qualitative data is in the form of descriptive and supported by photos. Quantitative data were homogenized with the Levene test, then the data were analyzed using ANOVA followed by the Honest Significant Difference (BNJ) test at the 5% level of significance. The results of this study indicate that shallot extract A. cepa has a significant effect on the growth of plant height, root length, number of leaves, chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b and total chlorophyll content in caisin plantlets B. rapa with an effective concentration of at a concentration of 7% in the in vitro test.
