Abstract

One of the prominent karst areas in Indonesia is the Gunung Sewu Karst Area. The unique karst characteristics in this area support biodiversity, especially in plants. Therefore, a plant inventory was conducted in Tembus Cave and Potro-Bunder Cave in Wonogiri Regency, Central Java, to understand the dominance and adaptation of tree species. This study used primary and secondary data, with descriptive-quantitative analysis. The results recorded 14 tree species with a total of 319 individuals, spread across two locations, 99 individuals in Tembus Cave area and 220 in Potro-Bunder Cave area. The dominant vegetation in Wonogiri and Gunung Kidul karst areas is dominated by Tectona grandis, while the forest around Pacitan karst caves is dominated by Leucaena leucocephala.
